How to Play the Fool!

1 April is traditionally a day of playing the fool! A day of pranks, misinformation and misrule, it turns things upside down and catches everyone by surprise. It got us wondering about the importance of play, fun, levity and joy at work. As a leader, how do you create an environment where laughter and fun is part of your way of working? How much joy does your team experience at work? And, who ‘plays the fool’ in your team? What roles does this play? Fools traditionally spoke the truth, and told those in power things no-one else dared. Do you have ‘fools’ in your team – people who speaks truth to your authority? Building safety for this to happen is key to progress and innovation. What’s one thing you can immediately do to encourage more ‘foolery’, this April and beyond?
